No longer the existence of Indian mobile phones in Nepali Market

Yes! You read the headline correct! There may be a stoppage of Indian mobile phones in the Nepali marketplace.

Do you know, Nepal has ranked at 99 in the global index for mobile broadband estimated in 2020 whereas the rank is 92 in fixed broadband in the same year.

Wow! We are doing great right. You felt it too.

Here’s another fact that can blow your mind: our country’s mobile download speed is 10.97 Mbps and 5.06 Mbps upload speed.

Our country has surpassed many south Asian countries including India, Pakistan, Maldives, Bhutan and many more.

With this, our Ministry of Communications and Information Technology at a recent meeting that held at the capital Kathmandu which was organized between Managing Director of Nepal Telecom Dilliram Adhikari and parliamentarians of Karnali and far western Provinces about at an interaction speaking program has urged not to buy mobiles phones made in India.

We have already been aware that Nepal telecom is currently extending the network supporting services based on 800 MHz frequency altogether considering remote and rural areas.

The Nepal telecom’s Base Transceiver Service (BTS) towers frequencies can carry such frequency smoothly with long-distance networks. However, the mobile phones manufactured in India do not support 800MHz frequency.

While with a network frequency of 800MHz  for the forge, the mobile phones manufactured in India do not support and even though their network does not use 800 MHz frequency.

In such a situation, our Forge will not work on smartphones made in India said the managing director Dilliram Adhikari.

That’s why now it’s better to not buy a mobile phone made in India.

For the alternative, you can go with the mobile sets manufactured in China, Vietnam and other countries.

And also the managing director warned about buying the new phone from any country, he added that when you’re buying a mobile phone set made in any country, you have to take care of whether the 800 MHZ frequency is supported or not.
